How to reproduce the sensation of the iconic BUGATTI W16 engine in a timepiece? Complex movement replicates a working engine, displayed in a case that captures the CHIRON’s flowing lines.
W16 POWER AND PRECISION, ON YOUR WRIST
HALF-MACHINE, HALF-MAGIC
578 components, one mesmerizing machine. Push the right-hand crown to fire up the engine. The crankshaft turns and 16 pistons leap into life. Miniature spinning turbochargers add to the realism.
RACING LINES
The front shape recalls the BUGATTI “horseshoe” grille. The sides incorporate the CHIRON’s sweeping C-line, with inset windows revealing the inner workings.
PUSH POWER
Three crowns, with EB-emblazoned tips, provide grip and control. The left one sets the time; the right-hand one starts/stops the engine. Winding the center crown recharges the movement and engine animation independently, with available power indicated by the tricolore fuel gauge.
PERFECTLY POISED
The first ever JACOB & CO. timepiece to feature a 30º inclined tourbillon. The "flying" part of the tourbillon means that the regulating organ is only supported on one side. The movement appears to be floating inside the case - suspended at just four points by minute blue shock absorbers. Symmetrical "exhausts" frame the engine block.
