A namesake born of obsession. This masterful hypertwin to BUGATTI’s newest hyper sports car merges the watchmaker’s groundbreaking complications with the marque’s iconic performance.
Partnership in precision
Hyper sports car-inspired horology
A timepiece that not only measures time with extraordinary precision but also captures the spirit of performance and luxury of both iconic houses. Jacob & Co.’s “Inspired by the Impossible” meets BUGATTI’s pursuit of the incomparable.
Evoking the Tourbillon
Never before has a timepiece mirrored an automobile with such daring accuracy. V16 engine block emulation. A case shaped like the vehicle. Sapphire openings reminiscent of tinted windows. Even a winding crown mimicking the finishings of the control knobs. Ten integrated design elements. Astonishing precision.
Evolution of precision
Privately unveiling plans for a new hyper sports car, BUGATTI invited Jacob & Co. to distill their shared engineering brilliance. Seamless car and watch integration bore unprecedented architecture. V16 engine block automaton. 557 components. 30-second flying tourbillon. Double power reserve. 18 months of obsessive development between the most prestigious brands.
Engineered to mesmerize
Envision a single block of sapphire housing 16 titanium pistons. This one-of-a-kind engine is driven by a delicate single-axis crankshaft, powering a mesmerizing 20-second automaton sequence–replicating BUGATTI’s exhuberant V16 engine with remarkable finesse.
30-Second lift-off
Gravity affects accuracy. The 30-second flying tourbillon in Caliber JCAM55 defies it with constant rotation–twice the speed as standard. The faster the rotation, the better the accuracy. Held only by its base, this flying tourbillon drives like an open-top.
Dramatic arc
A 270-degree sweep, then a snap back to zero. Both hands follow a retrograde rythm: the minute hand trails smoothly, while the blue hour hand waits—instantaneously jumping to the next hour every 60 minutes.
Power on display
Innovative at every turn, the BUGATTI TOURBILLON’S engine block automaton executes 20 animations on a single wind. Unique in watchmaking, the automaton's power reserve is displayed with the smaller hand while the larger, red hand shows the movement's 48-hour range.
Crowning glory
If comparable, it’s no longer BUGATTI – nor Jacob & Co. staying true to its design principle of avoiding traditional side crowns, the 6 o’clock winding crown starts the automaton, while the time-setting crown is visible through an opening, featuring a signature lift-out bow for comfort underneath the case.
