Founded by Ettore Bugatti in 1909, BUGATTI is a state-of-the-art hyper sports car marque based in Molsheim, France. For more than 110 years, the brand has been at the pinnacle of the automotive industry, creating the world’s most powerful and luxurious cars. Each car is still hand-assembled in the Atelier in Molsheim. 

BUGATTI stands for hundreds of race-winning cars, iconic touring models and passionate employees with a strong-minded and exuberant ‘patron’ at the top. The result is a modern myth which can’t be described with words but only through the strong personalities who stood and stand for this unique BUGATTI philosophy.

BUGATTI’s legacy is simply incomparable. Models like the TYPE 35, TYPE 57 SC ATLANTIC, and TYPE 41 ROYALE defined the early years of the brand, before Romano Artioli revived BUGATTI with the unveiling of the trailblazing EB110 in the 1990s – paving the way to all modern BUGATTI models since the VEYRON. Introduced in the 2000s under the leadership of Professor Ferdinand Piëch, the VEYRON created a brand-new automotive segment and established a new benchmark for road-going performance, as it became the world’s first production car with more than 1,000hp and a top speed of over 250mph. With the CHIRON family and models like the W16 MISTRAL – the ultimate roadster – and the track-only BOLIDE, BUGATTI’s W16-engined lineage has forever transformed the automotive industry. 

Today, BUGATTI is part of the Bugatti Rimac joint company and counts more than 160 employees, most of them based in Molsheim, some teams are also located in Berlin and Croatia, all embarking on an all-new era with the latest BUGATTI masterpiece: the TOURBILLON. Inspired by Haute-Couture, the TOURBILLON is timeless in its design and its engineering, meant to be admired by enthusiasts a century from now, in the same way that early BUGATTI creations are today.

In the early 2000s, BUGATTI created an entirely new segment with the introduction of the Veyron: the hyper sports car, becoming the first production model to break through 1,000 PS and 400 km/h.

Molsheim is the home of the BUGATTI family, the birthplace of the brand and the modern headquarters of the company. Located in France in the heart of Alsace, Molsheim is where BUGATTI’s history of success began in 1909, when Ettore Bugatti bucked the trend and started producing cars that were small, light and easy to handle.  

This was when the brand's values of excellence, courage and dedication were born – values which BUGATTI continues to champion.  

Ettore Bugatti was a perfectionist. He desired nothing but the best for his cars, his customers, his company and himself, following the maxim, "If comparable, it is no longer BUGATTI". Today, we are proud to continue the BUGATTI tradition in the place where it all began, here at Molsheim.

The factory, known as the Atelier, was added to the premises in the early 2000s. Created in the shape of BUGATTI’s signature feature, the macaron, it is the place where our craftspeople assemble each BUGATTI by hand. Every year, around 70 units of the Chiron variants, the Divo, the Centodieci, and other models are produced to the highest quality standards. 

While the Chateau and the remises represent the long tradition of the brand, the Atelier stands for modern-day technology and an innovative future – an inspiring setting for achieving unparalleled automotive excellence.
